April Events
April is full of public holidays, with Easter running right into Anzac Day making it difficult to schedule events. Our regular dance practice on 6 April has already passed. Coming up this Saturday night is ROC-A-TAC. The band will be playing rock’n’roll from 7-11pm at the Austrian Club in Mawson. Entry to the evening is $30 for members of Southside Rock’n’Roll Club and $35 for guests.
There is no need to book ahead, but here’s the link if you want to purchase tickets through TryBooking. If you’re coming with a group and need a table, contact us at bookings@southsiderocknroll.com FYI the Austrian Club restaurant is still closed.
As noted in the calendar, we have no dance practice on the remaining Sundays in April – 13th, 20th and 27th. We’ll be back at the Austrian Club from 4 May.

Twin Cities Rock’n’Roll Club 35th Anniversary
Saturday 4 October 2025
Here’s a letter we received from our friends in Albury Wodonga.
Hi,
I am reaching out to contacts and past members of the Twin Cities Rock & Roll Club Albury Wodonga.
In October this year, Twin Cities will celebrate 35 years, an amazing feat for a volunteer group.
To celebrate, we will be holding a 35-year birthday bash at the Albury Commercial Club Auditorium on Saturday 4th October.
I have attached a flyer with details regarding the event. We have the Vincents Band to help us celebrate.
Tickets are $30 and include a fully catered supper.
35 years is traditionally celebrated using Coral and Jade, hence our theme, Under the Sea!
If you would like tickets please let me know and I can send you our banking details.
Regards

Monday 6 October is a public holiday in Canberra, and some Southside members have already booked tickets. Contact Twin Cities if you want to join us.
New Post Box
Southside Rock’n’Roll has had a post box at Tuggeranong for many years, which was convenient when we were based at the Burns Club. Since we’ve moved to Mawson for our regular Sunday sessions, the Committee decided to move the PO box to Mawson. Our new mailing address is PO Box 430 Mawson 2607. Mail sent to our old box will be forwarded for several months.
